In 2010, Leasa decided to take the plunge and open her own salon. But instead of going with the traditional "Hairdresser" name, she wanted something that would truly stand out. That's when she remembered her childhood nickname and decided to embrace it fully.

Leasa's vision for her career was all about going beyond the standard hairdressing experience. Never wanting the mundane process of brown tints and standard haircutting, she wanted to break away from the cookie-cutter style and create something that truly reflected her unique style and personality.

And boy, did she love where her career has taken her. Scalp bleaching has become her specialty and getting the lightest and cleanest blondes you could desire. She loves a challenge of colour corrections, especially those of you that have dabbled into the world of black box die. You only do it one…or maybe twice. But we all know blondes have more fun! She loves a pastel tone, icy white and cheeky coppers. Anything light and fun. And those who still love their brunette hair? Let Leasa create a befitting balayage or some beachy chestnut highlights.

But she couldn’t find a professional haircare line that worked well with her client’s blonde hair. So she created the Birdie Range. hair and styling specifically to moisturise and give shine to blonde hair.

And now she has taken it one step further by launching her own bleach, peroxide, colour and vivid range. She wanted a range she could trust and that left the hair feeling amazing and gave her clients the best results possible. She just wasn’t seeing that from the big brands.

What make Birdie different to other Blonde ranges?

Well hello… it was created by a Blonde Specialist, not some chemist in a lab who has no idea on what blondes need. See the big brands create products on marketing and trends, not what is good for the hair. After 27 years of scalp bleaching, highlighting and dying blond hair, Leasa was creating amazing colours but the hair just wasn’t feeling the best. Clients complained of static, frizz and toners fading fast and Leasa could see it in her own hair. All the marketing in the world could not make an average product great. She knew her client’s hair could feel better. So she started researching the ingredients in the Big Brands and realised most of them did not live up to their clever marketing on the bottle. Very cheap, filler ingredients and in some cases carcinogenic and hormone disruptors. Trying to live life in the most natural way for 25 years, Leasa knew the healing power of clean, low tox ingredients.

Blonde hair is prone to build up as it is highly absorbent and silicons and other toxins can discolour blonde hair quickly. Even Blonde Toning Shampoo with too much pigment can leave a green/gold tinge to the hair that is hard to remove.
